A 19th Century Twin Fusee Striking Drop Dial Clock

A good early-mid 19th century drop dial wall clock. With a five pillar, eight day twin fusee movement striking on a bell, with a 12 inch (30cm) painted roman dial signed ‘Whitmore & Son, Northampton’. Above is a brass lined cartouche shaped lenticule. The case is made of nicely figured mahogany, with carved grape and vine leaf flanking motifs, just below the dial.

Whitmore & Son of Northampton are recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working 1830-1864.

This clock is shown unserviced but will be fully overhauled, and comes with our two year guarantee.
