A very handsome barograph in a mahogany five glass hinged case with a storage drawer. The movement supported on attractively turned gilded columns with a turned gilded brass ink bottle stand. With an eight day movement turning the barrel. The case has a storage drawer for barrel papers and spare nibs, this example comes with its original paperwork. The movement is signed the London Stereoscopic Company Ltd 3 Hanover Square.

The barograph takes barometric measurements, which in turn are recorded on a paper record sheet which is mounted on a clockwork revolving cylinder. The ink nib draws a line on the chart as the pressure rises and falls. The cylinder makes one full revolution in one week.
