An Art Deco Quarter Chiming Longcase Clock
A very fine example of a 1930’s longcase clock with a three train quarter chiming eight day movement, striking the hours and the chiming quarters on gong rods. The silver plated pendulum bob and weights match the frosted silver finish of the dial with polished Arabic numerals and hands. The dial, hands, weights and pendulum are unusual having been silver plated rather than chrome plated, and have a beautiful finish.
The case is veneers in quarter sawn and book matched walnut with the fully glazed door hung with a continuous piano hinge with 50 screws, all finished with a high shine french polish, making this an extremely stylish and quite unusual clock.
The movement chimes the Westminster sequence every 15 minutes and also has strike/silent and chime/silent selection, so that the clock can run silently when desired. The movement is of German manufacture and is a high quality substantial brass movement numbered 88721, with deadbeat escapement and fine adjustment on the crutch, and an engraved graduated indication to the rating nut.
This clock has been serviced and comes with our two year Guarantee.
