A 1930's Smiths Astral ships clock

This eight day ships clock with roman dial and subsidiary seconds dial is from the first era of Smith’s Astral production after they acquired the brand in 1932. The Astral was their highest quality range of movements, with a platform escapement and housed in a high quality brass case, this example has been mounted in a decorative turned solid mahogany frame.
